Hi Mike,
Firstly, many thanks for your enjoyable lectures on F7 and P1. Got them both in June sitting so delighted to see you are covering P7 too.
I’m planning on sitting F6 and P7 in Dec but I havnt sat P2 yet. I see some people posting about the importance of sitting P2 before P7 so just wondering what I can do to make up for having sat P2. Is is just a case of familiarising myself with all the standards?
Regards,
GavinJuly 19, 2016 at 6:16 am #327475That’s about the size of it – there is invariably a question on P7 involving accounting issues facing a client entity and their treatment of those issues
You are required typically to comment on evidence that you would expect to be available or what procedures you should, as auditor, adopt to audit the elements of these issues
Why not check out a couple of recent P7 papers and see what I mean
Then you can decide for yourself whether your existing recent F7 knowledge is going to be enough – but of course there are accounting standards in the P2 syllabus that were not in the F7 syllabus
Yes, going through accounting standards will prove very beneficial and certainly improve your chances in the P7 exam
And well done for your successes in June – glad to have been of assistance
