Hi Tutor, in the above example, we have adjusted net income of 152,000, above the 120,000 threshold for personal allowance, is it still necessary to compute working 1 for the personal allowance as was done in the answer to the example? We can see straight off that no personal allowance will be given above. Please let me know if for the exam it is still necessary to do the working one computation if adjusted net income exceeds 120,000. Thanks!
If you are answering a multi choice question then of course no workings anyway, but if in a written question you must show the calculation of adjusted net income but you can then indeed simply state that as this exceeds 120,000 the PA is reduced to nil.
