Dear Sir,
what does this mean?
IFRS 5 prohibits the retroactive classification as a discontinued operation, when the discontinued criteria are met after the end of the reporting period
Can you give some examples?
Thank you
I believe that the word that you are looking for is “retrospective”
If an activity is not discontinued at the year end, then it is still continuing
If, before the FS are finalised, it becomes discontinued, we cannot go back and pretend that it was discontinued AS AT the year end
Ok?
