Thanks Ken. I really appreciate this lecture more so with the explanation of the models and matrices (BCG, Ansoff, PESTEL, Porter, SWOT etc.) compared to the details of study text.

You’re welcome.

Hello. In the last but two slide of advantages for strategic planning the following is listed “it can take time to implement new plans and it can also take time before changes have a noticeable effect”. Why is this considered an advantage? Thank you!
Ken Garrett says
A plan (eg for 5 years) can encourage patience. Many projects show losses for a few years before breaking into profit and managers can become discouraged unless there is a plan holding out the hope of a golden future.

Hi
Could I get a link for the older acca past exams papers that are mentioned at the end of the lectures so I can do some practice e.g 2007 2010 please
Ken Garrett says
There is no single link. You have to Google. Eg
ACCA P5 December 2009 question name.

Really excellent lecture. Thank you so much Gromit!
The use of real-life examples to explain the theory and models is exactly what is needed to get a deeper understanding of how to apply the models, rather than just aimless jargon and theory.
Thanks again.

Hello Gromit,
I can only hear but can’t see the note board. Before today, I successfully listen to lectures until now . It shows only a blank green page please what do I do? I tried explorer already but lecture clip is blocked.
Thank you

Try google chrome (and turn off any ad blocking software)

Can you not use a different format of file, as youtube is blocked on my pc?
huzzug says
Do you have past exam papers mentioned in notes as ACCA’s website only has them up from June’11.

Very good lecture, very well explained, I must say, and the emphasis on how to approach the model was excellent. Thank you..
salman says
new topics are not briefed as required .. also there should be bullet points explanation for topics like ( Burns and Scapens theory .. technology, Mgt structure, competition)
Ken Garrett says
The lectures and material are pitched at a level we think appropriate for the topic (and other comments on this page are positive). If you feel you need more you can buy a BPP text here:

Great lectures but I suggest that respected teacher should look larger on screen, its difficult to focus in small corner.
opentuition_team says
make a video full screen 🙂
Ken Garrett says
I know I’m handsome, but it more important to concentrate on the rest of the screen than on me 😉
biggles says
Such modesty! Exceeded only by your good looks 😉
