Accountancy careers advice
Maybe you’ve got pressures from friends to join them at the university they’ve decided to go to, you don’t get the grades you need to get into uni, or you just don’t want to start life with a huge amount of debt from tuition fees. At the end of the day it’s your future so you have to be 100% happy with the decision.
The range of options can feel a bit like a minefield, go to uni/ don’t go to uni/ do an apprenticeship/ go into vocational education / go straight into a job- the choices are endless. But where to start?
AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians) is urging school leavers to consider vocational education and apprenticeships as a way to secure employment, gain experience and a qualification if you don’t achieve the marks they need for first choice University courses. Not many people realise that you can have a great career without going to university, for example if you get the AAT Accounting Qualification you can become a chartered accountant quicker than someone who has been to university!
