Hello
I am starting my studies for F8 Dec 14 and i am going to devote all my energy and time to this exam. I have few important questions.
1) I am following three books to study (BPP, Kaplan Emile Woolf) along with open tuition notes. All have different sequences in terms of chapters on the contents page. Is there any recommended sequence that i should follow to study f8 since i have never studied auditing before and i really need to follow step by step in order to understand each and every concept. Please advise any recommended sequence to study the chapters.
2) There is this link on the website of open tuition named f8 lectures live https://opentuition.com/acca/f8/f8-lectures-live/
what is the difference between lectures here and lectures under F8 Lectures section? what is the significance of the word LIVE?
3) I got hold of LSBF lectures for f8 but they seem to belong to either 2010 or 2011, i am not sure. Can i use them to understand the f8 concepts?
please advise
thanks

4) Is f8 paper time pressured like f7? I know f7 is very time pressured and most people fail to complete all 5 questions but what about f8? are the scenario questions really very time consuming?
October 16, 2014 at 8:20 am #204559Q1: Everyone has their own ideas about sequence – some just follow the syllabus sequence which is not necessarily best for learning. I Suggest you read the OT notes first and listern to the lectures (see below). They are roughly in the sequence in which an audit would be carried out. Also they are shorter than other texts so will give an quick (but quite full) introduction that will help if you go on to one of the others. I wold pick one of the others to concentrate on.
Q2 Live were recorded during a lecture to a class, The others were recorded ‘at a desk’. The live don’t quite cover every topic, but many people prefer their style. The notes were developed as transcripts of the studio recording, so what you hear is close to what you read. You can easily pick out the missing ones and go to the other ones to fill in.
Q3 2010 Lectures will be fine for introducing the concepts.
Q4 Note that the style of paper is changing for Dec 2014. 12 multiple choice questions for 20 marks, 4 x 10m mark questions, 2 x 20 marks. All compulsory. It is hard to predict time pressure, but I don’t think F8 was as bad as F7.
