    Hi,
This will be my 3rd sittiing for P1, each time I am between 6-7 marks away from passing. I think my problem is not making relevant points and waffling too much. I am also struggling to revise and completing questions from my revision kit. I been told to use mind maps, heading etc but still struggling, do you have any other suggestions?

Personally, I’m not a fan of mind maps – but why not try them to see if they work for you.

As to what else I might suggest – start on page 1 of your revision kit and work your way through every question. But don’t “answer” the question in full. For a 25 mark question, allocate 3.75 minutes reading time and 12.5 minutes planning time. That’s 16 minutes at the end of which time you should have a plan with 25 markable, relevant, clear, non-waffly points.

Now check against the answer and self-assess.

Go right through the revision kit and then ……..

    ……………… go through it again……………..

    ………………….and again.

Until you are capable and happy about “wasting” 16 minutes in apparent non-productive work.

then maybe start thinking about sorting your planned points ( 50 of them in 25 minutes for a 50 mark question ) into a logical sensible sequence

and ask yourself “Could I make a complete sentence ( no more than 2.5 lines ) around this planned point?”

    And take it from there!
