They are no hard and fast rules, it depends on what project you are writing about what is the nature of your topic. At this level you have already gone through a lot of model and concepts, so you are likely to have a lot to possibly include in terms of models and theory. The challenge is actually to limit yourself to include only what is relevant..You actually have to be selective. The word-limit is quite difficult to keep to..You may want to read a lot books just for background, but reading a lot or a few books should not be a main worry..

I am doing topic 8. Its lot harder than I thought.October 4, 2011 at 3:16 pm #88481
Wish you the best Sunny2011.. Topic 8 is challenging but it is quite approachable. You will actually have more to write on than you can fit in the word limit. Let me give you a hint: You are required to evaluate both “business” and “financial” performance. Select specific models that you know are used to evaluate business performance then specific ones for financial performance as well. be as broad as possible, if you limit yourself to ratio analysis only, you are most probably talking much about financial performance. The mistake most people make is to neglect the business aspects of performance. Also point out the strong links between business and financial performance. Use the Bsc information pack (2009) for specific guidance on how to arrange your subheadings and structure your RAP. You will make it..believe me..October 5, 2011 at 1:07 am #88482
thank you michaelq. I will keep that in mind.

Hi Sunny2011, Yes its ok, there is no problem with analysing companies with different year-ends. I actually did the same. My two companies had exactly the same year-ends like you mentioned here..October 5, 2011 at 11:41 pm #88484
