I see there is literature specified as Global and English for the F4, which one should I read? Thanks
May 21, 2015 at 3:45 pm #247708That depends upon which variant you choose to attempt – and that could depend upon where in the World you are planning to live / work / practice as an accountant

June 6, 2015 at 4:19 pm #254540I am learning Global Law yet I am very confused as to how the Chapters relate to the Lectures.
It says that from Chapter 5 onwards but from looking at the Global notes for Chapters 5 and 6 I cannot see how any of this ties up.I have also looked at the English notes and can see some of it (as you have referred to certain pages) but it still isn’t clear. Please let me know so that I can make progress with my studies.
Thanks in advance
June 6, 2015 at 10:39 pm #254623If you’re watching the videos and you’re entered for global variant, then the videos that are relevant for you are the ones from partnership onwards
Ok?
June 7, 2015 at 9:45 am #254704I have a BPP book (English version 2015) but I am going to to take the Global variant exam. can I use the Agency Law part onwards from the English version? are they as same as parts in Global version?
Thank you in advance for your kind help.
June 7, 2015 at 10:05 am #254712They certainly are Sareh
Pity that you’re not doing English variant – it’s a lot of fun 🙂
June 7, 2015 at 7:39 pm #254925Thanks for letting me know. Under the lecture titles Partnership is Chapter 9. On the main lectures page it does say above Chapter 5 to start from this chapter onwards for Global.
It may be worth changing this. Also, this is not Chapter 9 in the notes and the pages that are referred to in the lectures do not match the numbered pages of the Global or English notes. I’m just about working it out on where to look for the right in formation but it would be good if you could clarify this for the benefit of all students.
Thanks
June 7, 2015 at 9:23 pm #254965You’re right of course. The problem lies in the fact that I referred to page numbers during the recordings and I have added / removed pages since that date.
Although it’s awkward and not, therefore, ideal, it shouldn’t be too much hassle. Is it?
June 7, 2015 at 9:54 pm #254976I thought that this may have been the case. As you may have already gathered I am just starting out with this module. So far I am getting on ok but I will let you know if it does become more difficult.

June 9, 2015 at 9:33 pm #255806Good Evening
I’ve just seen lecture Chapter 10 Company Law Part 9 and you mention going over ANZAC on Wednesday (must be a previous lecture?) but I cannot find the details.
Please can you let me know what I need to know about this or send me the link to the details? Thanks
June 9, 2015 at 11:37 pm #255840Anzac is the acronym for an extremely brave group of young soldiers (Australian and New Zealand Army Corps) that fought so bravely in the Battle of Gallipoli in the World War that legislation was passed in England to prevent any company being formed using the word Anzac within the company name (The Anzac (Restriction on Trade Use of Word Act) 1916
Ok?
June 10, 2015 at 9:13 pm #256193Yes, this makes sense. It is exactly what you said in the lecture. As you said in the lecture that you had mentioned it previously I thought that maybe there was more than this that I needed to know. It looks like I am not missing anything. Thanks for clarifying.
June 10, 2015 at 11:16 pm #256213You’re welcome
June 12, 2015 at 1:24 pm #256588Hi
I am now watching Chapter 11 Company Law: Directors and Officers part 4, it is all about whether lending money to certain Directors of companies is allowed. I have found an extra page in the ENG notes called Directors – Controls which is where you are reciting info from.
Is this relevant to GLOBAL as it isn’t in the notes? Thanks
June 12, 2015 at 3:12 pm #256609Really? Which page number from the English notes is that?
June 12, 2015 at 3:15 pm #256611Page 93
June 12, 2015 at 3:28 pm #256614How interesting that that page should be omitted! I can’t remember ever saying to Admin “Miss page 93 off the global notes” maybe I felt that it was unnecessary for you. I’ve just checked the syllabus for September 2015 and cannot see specified anywhere the controls over directors’ borrowings so I’m not going to get excited about it
And I suggest that you don’t either. 🙂
June 12, 2015 at 4:14 pm #256622Ok then, thanks for letting me know. Since you have just pointed out that you checked it against the syllabus for September 2015 as far as you are aware are all of your notes and lectures relevant for these exams or has anything been added? I am planning to take F4 Global as a CBE next month so I’m not sure that the syllabus for September 2015 applies for this?
June 12, 2015 at 5:14 pm #256637There have been no changes to the syllabus for September as compared with that for June 2015
Ok?
June 12, 2015 at 6:09 pm #256656That’s great! Everything is covered then. For the notes where there are no lectures I just need to read through them right? I can see that there are no Revision notes or Revision lectures so should I simply revise by doing questions from a Revision Kit?
Thanks
June 12, 2015 at 6:14 pm #256658Absolutely correct, over and over again
June 12, 2015 at 6:49 pm #256663You can say that again! Somehow I need to get this to sink in! 🙂
