A lot of P4 is a revision of F9 then what is so different about P4 which makes people find it so difficult? Is it the application of knowledge or is it the learning part? Also, can you tell me on average how much percentage of P4 exam is numericals and how much percentage is theory? I really want to do this paper in march but people scare me regarding its difficulty. Finally, on the acca website, it is given that paper P4 is mainly underpinned by paper F5? Is this correct? Because I thought it was underpinned by F9. I didnt like f5 but liked f9.
December 13, 2016 at 6:09 pm #363601Many of the P4 techniques are revision of F9, but require much more interpretation. There are also quite a few new topics.
Best is to look at the a few recent exam papers from the ACCA website and then you will understand why many people find it a problem.
It is underpinned by F9 – F5 is not relevant at all.
December 13, 2016 at 6:30 pm #363611Okay thank you but can you tell me if the paper is more numerical or more theoretical?
December 14, 2016 at 7:36 am #363637More numerical, but again the best is to have a look at some recent past papers and get a feel for yourself.
December 14, 2016 at 8:05 pm #363716Okay I am taking P4 that’s it. Wish me luck 😀
December 14, 2016 at 8:39 pm #363718Just one final question.
I haven’t done P1 till now.
Will I find difficulty in P4 because of it?December 15, 2016 at 7:44 am #363745No – P1 is not relevant to P4.
December 18, 2016 at 12:39 pm #363951Hi..i last did p4 in June15 with BPP and i am planning to sit or March 17. Can i still use same books/course notes? Or too much has changed since then?
I have looked at the article about changes in course for last 2 years and did not think there is much added but just want to be sure so i dont fail even after putting in the required efforts.
ThanksDecember 18, 2016 at 8:03 pm #363979Not much has changed, so you are OK.
However I would get a current copy of the Revision Kit because it will have more recent past exam questions in it.
