Sir

what do you think of question 1 (a) – I failed to mention PID but instead explained that in order to do correct strategic planning it was also important to assess strategic analysis and then moved on to explain the importance of strategic planning by highlighting the mistakes of the CEO such as giving importance to the IT system without prior consultation, the procurement problem, the fact that he did not acknowledge the various stakeholders etc (used also Mendelow’s matrix).

Do you think this gives me a chance to give me at least 10 marks out of the 18?

with regards to question 1 (b) I mentioned the cultural web along with the change kaleidoscope and went also added the difference with a public authority (NFP) and private sector, another important factor such as shareholder wealth in financial terms and the difference against the motive of giving good service whilst containing costs.

Does this give me a chance to get decent marks out of the 18 marks allocated?

Thank you for your time

Could you please state possible ( mark earning) approach to June 2013 exam sitting . I have seen this for paper f5 & f9 on this forum.

I want to know please, do you think Charles Handy culture/stereotipical configuration stand a chance of good mark in Q1.ii. of the exam? What would you rather do here? I truly will love to see suggested answer to each of the question.

I have understood the issue on the fair value adjustment on stock. I agree with the new method of treating PUP on sale of Non current assets between holding and subsidiary.

External would usually mean comparing to similar businesses eg Ford comparing the cost of making a car to Volkswagen

Best in practice looks at a single process that another organisation is very good at. The organisations can be in very different businesses. Eg the inventory management in a supermarket compared to inventory management in a hospital pharmacy.

Not sure what’s meant by comparability benchmarking – all benchmarking implies comparing yourself to others.
