Please tell us in which country you live, and what work do you do.
Hi, my name is Samir and I live in Leicester, England. I work as a management accountant for a company called Thomson Hayes.
How much time each week did you spend studying, on average?
I try to do an 1 hour a day on average but it does tend to increase in the last week/10 days where I spend on average 6-8 Hours a day.
Which study resources did you use?
In this module, I used the Kaplan resources. However, I tend to make my own notes annotated from Kaplan and use this to revise the concepts prior to starting an questions.
Did you get support from your firm?
No, I don’t get any support from my firm and I am self funding any exams I take.
What was your approach to your studying?
My approach is generally to make my own notes initially, ensuring that I have included any information I felt is relevant and then spend quite a while learning it thoroughly before starting any questions. In the last 10 days, I tend to focus on starting questions from the exam kit and past papers but generally do not do any questions till I know the syllabus thoroughly.
What would you say was the most important factor that helped you to achieve such a high mark?
Make sure I had covered almost the whole syllabus and then practice questions from the exam kit till I felt I was ready to sit the exam.
How did you find out about OpenTuition, and which of our resources did you use?
I got recommended it from a Friend and then looked it up on google and I feel it is a great resource to have available. I mainly use the ask the tutor forum but will try to use other areas in the future.

Hi Samir bhai! Happy New Year!
your achievement and approach inspired me a lot. today My father purchased Kaplan F6 text and kit. they are not books bro! I feel they are Tomes that are difficult to tame!
Introduction and context:—-I am Sri Harsha. Today I have passed ACCA F4 CBE Exam with 75% marks. I am planning to write F5 and F6 in march 2018.Hardly 62 days time for both study and revision!.I want to study around 6 hrs a day i.e 372 hrs. If i divide this time between 2 subjects,it is 186 hrs per subject. i scored 79% in F2 exam in a Nov 2017 CBE Exam and that material is a little bit fresh in my mind.Just now I went through BPP F5 2017 text.I found compared to problematic and quantitative part I will struggle more with discursive and theory. My english language and writing skills are very poor.
Query:– Can I study and revise entire F6 in 186 hours? With that effort can I get 68+ marks in F5?(for F1 through F4,my average marks are 77%).
Please advise me the areas I have to concentrate on and any further points/ideas that empower me to get 68+ marks.
yesterday I celebrated my 11th birthday and i doodle a lot while studying and I dont have any study buddy in this part of india which i feel very demotivating
thanking you

I started on the first week of September if I recall correctly. Up to the first week of October, I annotated my notes using the book I had got from Kaplan. Then after a few days I started to revise by reading the content repeatedly until around 10th November. Then I read the notes and technical articles from Acca website until around 10 days before the exam, when I started the questions.
I did most of the multiple choice questions and on average 1 in 2/3 of the longer questions as the exam kit had a 100+ Longer questions, which is too many in my opinion.
I hope this helps and good luck on your exams.
