i don’t remember breaching the rules about downloading and any way since the lectures are no downloadable i can’t understand why i can’t even access the on line lectures any help. think my ip has been blocked
@schatja12,
lectures work fine, maybe you are behind a firewall, contact your provider to open video ports for you,
Please visit the support page for help: http://opentuition.com/support/
@wgkeating, contribution towards the private use of car is different from capital contribution,..for the private use contribution you deduct it from the assessable benefit-i.e, from 22,600 x 35%
@wgkeating, Im waying in late on the question but the 1200 is the employee contribution which is decucted after the list price is ascertain. the only adjustment to the list price would be to add the cost of any accessories or to substract any capital contribution made by the employee. the answer in the notes is correct
@lindann, Hi, That’s where the cash is made. So the only way you can save on your internet cost is by paying rapt attention to every lecture you listen to in order not to be logging in for the same lecture over and over again. Free is absolutely not always free. Nonetheless, I find this site very helpful. Thanks to Open tuition team.
@bankas15, what do you mean, free is not always free?
our lectures are free and always will be, they are on line only,
we do not get any cash from your internet provider fees.
and the adverts on the site, just pay enough to keep this site alive,
sure, users without broadband internet can’t watch them, but neither can users without computers..
it’s not our responsibility, we can’t solve all worlds problems, unfortunately
i am a student like you and i understand the lecturer very well, i think you should have the notes in front of you for you to fully benefit and not to go off track.
Chapter 9 Example 5:
Billy: Should be using 27% instead of 26% as in answer!!
Dennis: Answer should be £1880 instead of £1888!!
From the question the list price is – 22,600.
As per notes page 63 (e) (ii), “the list price is reduced by any capital contribution from the employee …..”
Therefore: List Price (22,600) – Contribution(1,200) = 21.400
Then 21,400 *35% = 7,490

Example 4: Ref. Carla
First: As per notes page 63 (e) (ii), “the list price is reduced by any capital contribution from the employee …..”
My solution: (22,600-1200)x 35% = 7490 (1200 deducted from “list price”)
Answer in notes: 22,600 x 35% – 1200 = 6710 (1200 deducted from list price having applied the 35%)
Which is correct!?

@lindann, Lectures are not downloadable,
the only way this site can exist at all is when students watch lectures on line.
it is not too much to ask? we do not charge, we do not ask you to click on banners!
and since you are saving money, by not paying for it, get a better internet connection
i am a student like you and i understand the lecturer very well, i think you should have the notes in front of you for you to fully benefit and not to go off track.
